John Battagliese

"John Battagliese. Remember that name." - Brian Sands, Ambush Magazine

Originally from West Chester, PA, John Battagliese is an actor, singer, and on-air host—who is happiest with a martini in hand and deep in conversation. Named one of Broadway’s Rising Stars in 2016 and the winner of The Kelly Clarkson Show’s “Kellyoke Search for The Greatest New Voices in America,” John grew up loving two things: Broadway and talk shows. His childhood was basically a constant loop of Live with Regis & Kelly, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, and Rent.

John graduated from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) - the nation’s first program with a dedicated Musical Theater degree. While still in college, he made his professional debut as Link Larkin in The MUNY’s star studded production of Hairspray, proving he could sing, dance, and survive humidity. After graduation, John moved to New York, where he soon originated the role of Jack Cassidy in Have You Met Miss Jones?, acting opposite Academy Award-winner Shirley Jones in the musical of her life written by Shaun Cassidy and Richard Maltby Jr.. From there, he moved to Las Vegas to star as Romeo in BAZ: Starcrossed Love, where Shakespeare met Baz Luhrmann, and John met some seriously fabulous costumes. His national tour credits include playing Greg McConnell in Cruel Intentions: The 90’s Musical (yes, that one) and covering Sebastian, plus portraying Erwin Bach in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical—a show where John discovered both his love for the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll and a newfound appreciation for wigs.

In New York City, John has been involved in the development of over 30 new musicals. He’s also performed in concerts around the world and appeared in regional productions like Love Actually Live! (where he got to channel his inner Hugh Grant), Grumpy Old Men, Jersey Boys, The Last Five Years, and Beautiful, to name a few.

When he’s not on stage, John’s creating content with heart, producing his own social media interview series, Chit Chat with John Batt, which spotlights LGBTQ+ owned businesses and highlights the shared human experience. His work has earned him partnerships as a Red Carpet Correspondent, as well as appearances on NBC News and The Today show.

John’s on-air hosting experience includes collaborations with QVC/HSN+, where he’s showcased everything from smart ovens to holiday magic, hosting A Merry Graceland Christmas live from Elvis Presley’s legendary home. Stay tuned for more adventures with John on Instagram and Tiktok: @thejohnbatt.
